Great Lake Report 9/3/2013

I haven't been fishing much lately that's why NO reports coming from this direction, but none the less we have one now. Went to the Great lake on Saturday with some mates 3 boats in total and 6 fishermen, upon arrival we decided to make some fun out of the long weekend and made it a little competition between all the boats.
Team Woodberry flew out of the blocks on Saturday afternoon boating 2 nice Brownies in the first half an hour by 6pm and ended up with another 2 a bit later by 7.30,  netting 4 very nice Brownies all in very good condition 2 actually carrying fat inside them.

Upon comparing fish at the boat ramp( Brandum bay) by the way you can still use this ramp with ease even though the water is so low, found we had a tie with another boat and the remainder boat with only 1 Rainbow, but all fish were in very good condition.
Sunday morning came and the Woodberry team got another one on the score card, with the other boats also getting only one fish each as well.Score card 4,4,2.
Sunday arvo came with a huge thunder storm and plenty of rain but by 4.30 Woodberry team saw an opening and being the only boat with a canopy decided to go out and brave it and got another 2 Rainbows, & 1 Brownie, all still in really good condition and good colour.
The rule comittee deemed the Woodberry team a non starter for Monday mornings fish due to them fishing the night before but we never cared the beer and burbon  tasted reallllllly nice.
Final score was Woodberry"s with 7, tied with the other team of Williams, and the Blue Dolphin team got 3.
What an enjoyable weekend, all fish caught were on lead lines around the 3 coloures and all fish were about 3.5 to 4 metres down on the fish finder any thing with pink or orange stripe caught.TIGHT LINES UNTIL NEXT TIME.
