Great Lake Report 3/11/2013

Well with all the strong wind, bad weather, and work commitments until this weekend I hadn't been able to wet a line for the season.
But I've kicked it off with a bang. Having a few days off on holidays this week and had a look at Willy Weather on the net decided to give it a bash and go to the Great Lake. Arriving at lunch time on Thursday started fishing at 4pm, by 8;30 had 4 nice Brownies in the boat about 1lbs, 1 Rainbow 1 1/2 lbs, and a 2 1/2 lbs Rainbow, released 2 smaller Brownies, and lost another 2 at the boat.

All were caught on green and gold, and a brown trout type lure with a pink stripe on it.
Friday I went to Woods's Lake, got there at 8.30 had a bite in 20 mins, a nice little well conditioned Brownie by the hour then the lake went off like a mill pond with no other luck till packing up by 11am. Found out on Sunday from a mate I didn't realise was there at the same time, that I should have been using dark green with yellow dots and would have bagged out in no time.
Saturday went back to the Great lake and got another 2 nice Brownies of about the same size as before and released another smaller one, trolling in the afternoon.
Sunday it snowed so I called it a day and came home a happy man, off work, fishing and with the season off to a good start with a good tally.
Until next time TIGHT LINES
